Tomorrow is the big day. Our two new female additions will be joining us around 12:30pm EST. Pretty crazy to be so scheduled but I think we are used to it :) I am not nervous now, perhaps because its old hat but more likely because I know there is plenty of time to be nervous tomorrow.

Tonight we had a nice family dinner out at our favorite mexican joint, the kids headed off to bathe and sleep, and I enjoyed yet another trip to Home Depot (that’s sarcasm, I am so sick of shopping). I bought a new mailbox (the mailman will be happy) and a push lawn mower (that mean no gas, no electric, no hassle) and a shade for the girls room.

So that’s that, the house is fairly settled, the kids are happy and excited, and we are ready to bring the girls into our fantastic family. So wish us luck and I will send out some photos as soon as I get a minute.

Thanks again to all my friends and family for being so supportive and helpful during the pregnancy and move; especially Dolly who has been putting up with us for the last 3 weeks and has been a tremendous help to Carrie and the kids.

_G104725As always an interesting month. What was up with the weather? And Easter, the earliest for the next 277 years 152 years.

Hampton and Gavin are growing at an alarming rate, Carrie and I are constantly amazed by their antics as I am sure you all know. So have a peek at this month’s photos and have a great April.

_G104881_resizePictures are up in the gallery from this past Easter weekend. I am finding that the quality of my work is dropping dramatically with each day that passes. I could attribute this to lack of time or practice, which it may be; however I think the main reason is laziness, I have become easily distracted lately and I am just not spending enough time seeing the art in the moment. Anyway hopefully somethings snaps and that will change. The good news is that summer is fast approaching, warm weather will soon be here, and perhaps some of the cabin fever that is within all of right now will dissipate. I am certainly looking forward to a little bit of change.

The positive is that Hampton and Gavin had a great weekend. After watching Charlie Brown’s Easter Hampton was under the impression that the Easter Beagle that would be visiting us on Sunday morning, much to his surprise the half-eaten carrot on the table indicated it was the Easter Bunny after all.

11-18-2007 2-41-18 PM_141For the first time I attempted to take some real portraits. Having not done this before (I had previously thought of myself as more of a landscape photographer) I had no idea what I was in for. First, I took a few hundred pictures today. I have only put up a few in the gallery so that should give you an idea of how it went. Now it was fun, taking pictures always is but there are some things I had not thought about. I had no idea how import that “prime focal length” was or how desperately I may need some light boxes and a back drop. Also trees and mountains don’t move nor do they require perfect lighting. It was a learning experience to say the least and a humbling one at that. Anyway enjoy the few photos I have up. I will be posting a November album after the holiday which I am sure you will enjoy.

15 Reasons Mister Rogers Was the Best Neighbor Ever
Mister Rodgers…I don’t think i have thought about him in a long time. I guess there was no reason to, I haven’t seen his show on the air in a while and he has been dead for some time. Then the other day i was up at 6:00am with the kids and the show was on. I couldn’t belive what I was feeling, but I almost missed it, like an old friend. I had flashbacks of being quite young and watching it from my parents livingroom in Hamlin, NY. I just came across this article today and I thought it fitting to post.

Love one another, be kind, and if you had to look up to someone, Mister Rodgers is not a bad hero.

How to be a Great Dad
Yeah yeah, I know, two posts in one day and you hate the spam. Well I just came across this and I just couldn’t wait to post it, plus I like the guys blog. Enjoy and always be good. I find that is pretty much the answer to all questions especially when it comes to raising kids.

It is my lifelong goal to be the best dad possible, and while there are many ways I can still improve, I think I’m a pretty great dad already, when I sit back and think about it. I know there are some readers who are just starting out in their careers as dads, and this post is for you.
