_G104435I don’t think the word cold quite cuts it here. It was downright frigid. We all had a great time celebrating this annual tradition of freezing our butts off. There are 123 pictures waiting in the gallery to entertain and amaze. Frankly I am surprised my camera even worked in the -20 wind chills. Well actually sometimes the photos came out not as I had imagined, but they are there. So enjoy :)

First off Happy New Year!! Second I am happy to announce some new photos and a new theme. I feel like a million things happened this month. We went to the aquarium (twice), the children’s museum, and Virginia Beach (Carrie’s Mom’s house) for Christmas, and a million things in between. It has been a pretty busy and full month. Have a happy and safe new year and I hope you enjoy the snapshots.

11-18-2007 2-41-18 PM_141For the first time I attempted to take some real portraits. Having not done this before (I had previously thought of myself as more of a landscape photographer) I had no idea what I was in for. First, I took a few hundred pictures today. I have only put up a few in the gallery so that should give you an idea of how it went. Now it was fun, taking pictures always is but there are some things I had not thought about. I had no idea how import that “prime focal length” was or how desperately I may need some light boxes and a back drop. Also trees and mountains don’t move nor do they require perfect lighting. It was a learning experience to say the least and a humbling one at that. Anyway enjoy the few photos I have up. I will be posting a November album after the holiday which I am sure you will enjoy.

_G101281 It was a fantastic month for photographs. The family and I went on many outings, the fall leaves are beautiful, and I have a new camera which I adore. Have fun perusing through the images. Its a mix of art and life (which are many times the same thing). So everything from Windsor Dam to Halloween is within the album, enjoy!

What is a GX10? Its really just a Pentax K10D digital SLR. Its a 10MP beast with every bell and whistle a geek photographer could ask for. I am very very happy with it. Anyway I have only had it about 5 days so here is the last few days of photos (click on the image). I am still getting adjusted to it so my style is all over the place.

As you can see I am also trying to get my blog attached to everything so that if people wish, they can pretty much see what I am up to the majority of the time, this is the new internet…though it does give me a headache at times it was very easy to do and is helping me to journal my day to day without much effort.

Update: Creating an October album which I moved these images into

It was a busy month but I think the highlight was the Dan Zanes concert. We got to dance and sing as well as spend a wonderful day together in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. As always we were also busy in Rochester for Kristina’s baby shower, birthday parties, and just hanging out in Boston or the back yard. It was a good month.

On another note I am looking forward to June and the rest of the summer. I am turning 30 along with my best friends Chris and Nate, also Carrie and I have 4 good vacations planned. What more could you ask for? Enjoy the photos.

Wow…thats all I have to say about that.

Sometimes both heaven and Earth erupt. In Iceland in 1991, the volcano Hekla erupted at the same time that auroras were visible overhead. Hekla, one of the most famous volcanoes in the world, has erupted at least 20 times over the past millennium, sometimes causing great destruction. The last eruption occurred only six years ago but caused only minor damage. The green auroral band occurred fortuitously about 100 kilometers above the erupting lava. Is Earth the Solar System’s only planet with both auroras and volcanos?

So this is what I look like old? Wow?! The transformer does a pretty decent job. My head is a bit turned in the picture so its not spot on, but interesting none the less. Clicking on the picture will bring you to an album of transforms.

You can use the Perception Laboratory’s Face Transformer to change the age, race or sex of a facial image, to transform it to the style of a famous artist, to make an exagerated caricature or even make an ape of yourself!
